Lets Start Again

After telling you I would be back and working again i was immediately laid up with the worst cold I have had in a long time. I did lose my taste and smell so think it is possible I have had Covid. It has left me with an awful cough.

Anyway from tomorrow i will be here and back to normal. I hope to see you then.

A Little Update ftom Memory Makers

Hello lovely crafters,

You may have noticed things have been a little quieter than usual around here. Over the past few months, health challenges have meant I’ve had to slow down and step back more than I would have liked. It’s never easy pressing pause, especially when creativity is such a joyful part of everyday life.

But even in the quiet moments, Memory Makers has been gently ticking along behind the scenes. New ideas have been taking shape, fresh designs have been sketched, and several beautiful digital paper craft kits are now in their final stages. I can’t wait to share them with you very soon.

Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for being part of this little creative community. Your support means more than you know, and I’m so excited for what’s coming next.

With warmth,
Memory Makers

Cupcake

I made this card using Complete Cards Vol.2

I started with an A5 card blank. From the kit I printed a pyramage sheet, a decorative paper and a matching insert.

I like to glue the insert into the card before I start to decorate the outside of the card.

I cut a piece of decorative paper to fit the front of the card. I rounded the corners using a paper punch.

I added a white card mat and rounded the corners of it as well

I rounded the corners of the first layer of pyramage and glued it in place.

For the next layer of the pyramagre i added 3D glue before adding it to the card.you can use foam pads if you wish but I prefer glue because if you dont match up the layers properly you can wiggle it about before the glue dries.

Continue adding the layers in this way working from the largest to the smallest piece to give your finished card.

There’s something magical about watching a project come to life from unexpected combinations. Whether you’re a seasoned papercrafter or just beginning your digital crafting adventure, mixing and matching kits can unlock a whole new level of creativity. It’s like curating your own symphony of style, colour, and story.

🧩 Why Mix & Match?

- Maximise Your Stash: Using elements from multiple kits stretches your resources and reduces creative waste.
- Boost Originality: Unique combinations help your work stand out, especially if crafting for blog content or selling.
- Spark New Ideas: Pairing unexpected styles can lead to fresh inspiration and joyful surprises.

🌟 Tips to Master the Mix

- Start with a Theme: Whether it’s “Winter Wonderland in Blues” or “Rustic Romance,” having a clear vision guides your choices.
- Focus on Colour Harmony: Use colour swatches to help different kits blend smoothly. Bonus points if you love working in blues—they’re wonderfully versatile!
- Balance Style and Scale: Mixing whimsical hand-drawn elements with sleek modern graphics? Make sure they complement rather than compete.
- Organise Smartly: Tag, label, and preview your digital files so you can easily pull elements that work well together.

A Step by Step Guide to Getting The Best from a Memory Makers Digital Craft Kit

Memory Makers Digital Craft Kits are more than just files—they’re little treasure troves of creativity designed to help you make meaningful, heartfelt pieces that last a lifetime. Whether you're crafting for yourself, for loved ones, or to sell your handmade creations, this guided walk will take you through our latest kit Blue Christmas and how to get the best from every pixel and paper cut.

💻 Step 1: Get Set with the Right Tools
Before you dive into your kit, make sure your crafting setup is ready:
- Software: You don't need any special software all of the files in this kitxare in peg format so as long as your computer/ tablet reads these files you just need to open them and print.
- Hardware: A cutting machine (Scan and Cut, Cricut, Silhouette, etc.), a good printer , and quality cardstock and paper of different types will elevate your final product.
- Organizing Tools: I store all of my kits on uses. You may want to put them all on one USB or you may want a different USB for each category such as Christmas, Travel, Botanical etc.

📂 Step 2: Unpack and Explore the Files
Open the digital kit folder and take time to explore. You'll typically find:
- Perfect Pictures
- Decorative Papers
- Envelopes and Pockets
- Embellishments and more

The Kit and it's contents are all inside of one big folder so it is easy to find when you want to use it.

🎨 Step 3: Plan Your Project
What story do you want to tell? What emotion do you want to evoke? Whether you're making a handmade card, scrapbook page, or home decor:
- This kit has Christmas Designs with a blue theme so look for cardstock and embellishments that will compliment this theme.

- Match designs to the occasion—look for motifs or phrases that connect with your message
- Sketch a rough layout or mock up before committing. You can also find lots of free card and scrapbook sketches on the Internet. They are great for inspiration.

🛠️ Step 4:Digital kits are powerful because they’re flexible:

- Combine layers in unique ways
- Add your own text  for personalization, use stamps from your collection, or print out your own sentiments to suit the occasion. You can also use peel off sentiments, die cuts, or sentiments cut using your cutting machine.

Don't be afraid to go off-script. Your creative twist is what makes it memorable.

✉️ Step 5: Assemble with Intention
Print, cut, and assemble with care:
- Use foam pads or layered embellishments to add depth
- Incorporate stitching, ribbons, or real textures alongside digital layers
- Let each piece communicate something personal—whether it's nostalgia, gratitude, or celebration

Crafting slowly and mindfully can make the experience just as meaningful as the final piece.

📸 Step 6: Share & Inspire
Finished your masterpiece? Share it!
- Snap a photo and post in  the Memory Makers Facebook Group, crafting communities or on your blog
- Use #memorymakers and let me see what you have made and to spread to spread the love of the kit
- Write a mini story about the piece—what inspired you and who it’s for

And if you're thinking about crafting for profit, this is a great way to build your brand and connect with kindred spirits.

Memory Makers Digital Craft Kits are truly more than files—they’re invitations to pause, create, and connect. So open that folder with intention, and let your creativity bloom. 🌸

Most of all enjoy this kit.

The Beautiful Bride.

The newest collection from Memory Makers is Complete Cards Vol. 2. It has everything upu need for cards for all occasions.

This beautiful card is the first of my makes from this collection.

I hope you like it.

I started with an 8x8 card blank, a sheet of decorative paper and a sheet of perfect pictures from the same set.

I cut the decorative papers to 7.75 x 3.5 inches. Then using a corner rounder punch i rounded the corners before glueing it in place.

Next I glued in place a white card layer which again I rounded the corners of.

Then I glued one of the perfect pictures from the sheet onto the mat and again I rounded the corners. The picture is 1/4 inch smaller all round than the white card layer.

I finished the card off by adding some pink roses which pick out the pink in the brides bouquet.
