Baby Dragon Card

Now I have a working printer I'm getting some crafting done.
I have made this card from the Baby Dragon Collection.

I printed out a sheet of four toppers, a matching backing paper, and a sheet of borders.
I used a piece of black card folded in half to make the base card. I used a sheet of blue encapsulated glitter and a sheet of black card to create the matts and layers.
To create the 3D decoupage picture I used the sheet of toppers. I left one as it was printed and then to create the decoupage I trimmed away parts of each topper to give the 3D image, then I glued it in place. I glued the topper onto the main card. Finally I glued a border across the bottom of the card which was also matted on black and blue card. If you wish you can finish the card with a sentiment.

I hope you like the end result.

Christmas Card Friday

I don't know about you but I always end up making my Christmas cards at the last minute, and I never make enough.
Its quite embarrassing when everyone knows you are a crafter and you are scrabling around at the last minute sorting out Christmas cards.
So I have decided it is time to put those days behind me. From next Friday I will be doing a Christmas Card Friday feature. I will be making a Christmas Card every Friday over the year. I think if I do that I will be able to make all of my Christmas Cards for the year in plenty of time. It also means I will be sharing them with you and hopefully give you a bit of inspiration.
So if you need to get on top of your Christmas card making join me here on the Memory Makers blog from next week for Christmas Card Friday.

Printer Issues

Craft wise I gave been out of action for quite a while now because I have been having printer troubles.

My printer was an Epson eco tank and honestly one of the best printers I have ever owned. It was very economical due to the ink consumption. Buying in larger volumes and topping up the tanks when needed makes it much more economical.

Disaster struck about 2 months ago when it suddenly stopped printing red. Every other colour was fine but no red. The tank was full do that wasn't the problem. I performed print head cleaning and nozzle cleaning all to the same result, no red printing.

I bought a specialist print head cleaning kit and at the weekend my husband Dave stripped down the printer and carefully cleaned the print heads following the instructions given. Nothing, still no red. I finally had to addmitt nothing could be done and my printer had to go to printer heaven.

I now needed a new printer. I had no hesitation in looking at another eco tank printer.

This is the one I chose. Its and epson eco tank 2860. It's arriving today so in the next couple of days I should be able to get some crafting done.

I have some projects lined up already and the first is to make a 12 x12 album to put our pictures in from our trip to Italy in the summer. Of course I am going to use The Italian Coast paper kit that I designed a few months back. Our holiday was in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast so this collection will be perfect.
